On Friday nights at the MWR (Morale, Welfare and Recreation) is Salsa Night. From 2000 to about 2100 they have lessons and from 2100 on they play music and everyone just dances. Last Friday (January 15th) I chose to partake in the Salsa festivities. OMG I had so much fun!!! My friend, Daniel, had been teaching me moves for an entire week leading up to this past Friday. He's a fantastic dancer and a patient teacher. The ONLY thing I didn't like about dancing was that I had to be in uniform. It's very weird to move your hips in that Salsa way when one is wearing a baggy uniform with a 30 round magazine in one's pocket....among other things. In addition to Salsa, I also danced the Pachatta (sp?). I hope to go again this coming Friday. Here are a few pics from my first ever time dancing the Salsa!
Checking to make sure I'm starting out with the correct foot
As you can see.....
.....I couldn't stop smiling I was having such a good time
Salsa dancing is an excellent form of cardio. Daniel spun me around so much I was dripping with sweat!!
ROFL! Thanks for sharing my dear! What a lovely ending to my weekend. Your description of the "wierdness" totally made me split a gut. Then Roger says, "now that is heavy metal dancing". Tis funny but not funny. Love you!!!
