Ba-humbug? Not this year!

I thought for sure that Scrooge and the Grinch were going to show their ugly heads this Christmas.  My work is all decorated, the chowhall is decorated, I got to see my kids open their gifts via Skype and my work had a Christmas Eve party complete with Secret Santa!!  All things considered it was a pretty decent Christmas season!!  I don't have any pics of my work's party because, well, I work in a Top Secret facility and they sort of frown upon cameras.  The director of the BFC was my Secret Santa.  He got me a cheesy Arab blanket :)  Those are his words, not mine.  It's very floral.  I didn't really know my Secret Santa very well, so my friend and coworker, Daniel, was my spy.  He found out he likes iTunes so I got him a $25 gift card for that.


The chowhall was really nice.  There were lights up outside, the workers changed all the lightbulbs inside so they gave off a sort of ambiance, military leaders were behind the serving line and there were a ton of decorations everywhere complete with a band!  The food was delicious!


At the building where I work we have guards at the entrance and exit.  All day yesterday it was the leaders at those posts!  I'm talking Sergeants Major and First Sergeants!  It was really neat to see that!  We, at the BFC, got to work a short shift.  Instead of 12 hours we only had to work 6!  It was a nice break.
